Queenstown's Glamour Event of the year!
January 31st 1998.
This year was the 5th version of what could be classed as one of the worlds most unique balls (certainly the most unique location). The charity ball is held to raise funds for the local Bruce Grant Memorial Trust. Bruce was killed whilst climbing K2 and his fund now assists local youth to undertake sport and cultural activities.

300 immaculately dressed people boarded the T.S.S Earnslaw vintage steamer to be transported across the lake to the Walter Peak Homestead for a night filled with Champagne, fine food, and dancing.

Local celebs & socialites were out in force and a special guest was "Piano" director Jane Campion who takes credit for several of the photos above.
